IHS volleyball perfect after 7 matches

Isabella’s volleyball team started its season with a 7-0 record.

The Mustangs won a tournament at Marbury by defeating the hosts in the championship game.

In five matches, Khadijah Craig compiled 37 kills, eight blocks and 11 aces.

Landy Griffith had 24 kills and 13 aces; Erika Brascome had 14 kills, four blocks and 13 aces; Heather Posey had 52 assists; and Mallory Mitchell had 18 digs.

IHS defeated Chilton County High School on Aug. 27, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-21).

Craig had six kills and three aces in that match, while Griffith had five kills and two aces, Brascome had seven aces and Posey had 10 assists.

The Mustangs won their first home match on Aug. 28, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-20) over Thorsby.

Craig had eight kills and three aces, Brascome had seven kills and six aces, Griffith had four kills and six aces, and Posey had nine assists.
