RELIGION COLUMN: He’s with me every hour

“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.  Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together. Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray the peace of Jerusalem:  they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within palaces. For my brethren and companions sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good” (Psalm 122:1–9).

Thought for the week: The blessedness of quiet times

The blessedness of quiet times when God and I commune with morning sunshine touching soft or gentle breeze at noon, in whispered prayer, the evening stars speak of His loving power, and in the silence of the night, He’s with me every hour. The blessedness of quiet times comes in the dance of Spring, when Summer flowers start to bloom, when Autumn colors bring … The cold north wind of Winter’s chill when snowdrifts start to form; the love God burns into my heart, his fire keeps me warm. The blessedness of quiet times, when God and I can share the love He gives, in many ways, is with me everywhere.
