Health Department shows appreciation

Published 5:00pm Wednesday, August 15, 2012

The Chilton County Health Department held its first Community Appreciation Day on Wednesday.

Representatives from local and state health organizations, including Chilton Medical Center, Sarrell Dental and the Alabama Department of Public Health, were present to distribute information and answer health-related questions.

Ludean Hicks, CCHD clinic supervisor, said she expects the event to be held annually.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to do this,” Hicks said. “It’s just a way of giving back to the community.”

State Rep. Kurt Wallace visited during the morning session, from 10 a.m. to noon.

“We wanted to invite all the counties,” Hicks said. “We’ve invited the mayors from the different towns.”

Community Appreciation Day was held in the community room at the Chilton County Health Department in Clanton.

CCHD has operated in its current building on Health Center Drive for 14 years.
