The Chilton County Auburn Club will hold its annual Kick-Off Party at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Clanton First United Methodist Church.

The event is causal and free to everyone. Those that attend should bring their favorite tailgate dish.

The guest speaker will be Terry Henley, former Auburn running back and a teammate of club member Jim Pitts. Those that have heard Terry speak before know to be prepared for a good time and a lot of laughs.

There will also be a special item to be auctioned, so attendees should come prepared to bid. Those that wish can pay their activity fee for the following year at the party. The fee is $25 per family and is used for operating expenses and scholarships.

Also, the club’s annual golf tournament will be held Aug. 18 at the Clanton Country Club.

Hole sponsorships cost $50. Checks can be mailed to Chilton Auburn Club, P.O. Box 2184, Clanton, AL 35046, or call Mike Blankenship at 755-2777 and he could come by and receive your check or cash.

All revenue received from hole sponsorships goes directly to the club’s annual scholarship fund, which has allowed the club to provide annually two half scholarships to a Chilton County student. Those interested should mail a check or call Blankenship before Friday, Aug. 17.
