Cedar Grove Church

When we went in church, they were singing “Nothing But The Blood of Jesus” and that is exactly what can cleanse your soul.

Bro. Gary Hubbard taught about Elijah the prophet in Sunday School, and his text came from 1 Kings 17:1-16.

Golden Text: O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him,” Psalm 34: 9.

Jordan Harvely is our song leader in the absence of Bro. Steve Price; he began the service by leading the congregation in singing “What A Friend,” “He Set Me Free” and “When We all Get To Heaven.” Bro. Alton Russell sung “I Was There When It Happened” accompanied by the choir. Bro. Gary Hubbard blessed us by singing “I’m Amazed” and Norma Muir sung the beautiful song “Consider The Lilies.”

Our “Homecoming” will be here the fourth Sunday in this month; more details later.

Happy birthday to Bobby McNeel, we hope you had a good one.

Brother Jeff Carroll preached on” Warfare “ his text came from 2 Timothy 2:3-4 and 1 John. Stacy Wyatt sang the song of invitation; the altar filled with praying and some being prayed for, it was a wonderful service.

Christ Independent Methodist

Our church service began Sunday with the congregation singing, “Victory in Jesus,” the “Light of the World is Jesus” and “Trust and Obey.”

What a great day it was to go to the house of the Lord and thank Him for the needed rain and protecting us from the storm that accompanied the rain and lightning. Never in my life have I experienced such lightning!

Dr. Mac Stinson’s sermon title today was “Where is your Rock?” His scripture came from Ephesians 4:1-16, written by the Apostle Paul. If you detect a sense of urgency in the passage, Paul was in prison awaiting his trial while writing the book of Ephesians. The central theme is unity through Christ, including complete Christian unity in the family and in the church. Paul states that it is vital that the church be unified.

The greatest need in our churches today is commitment, whether they are large or small. Jesus said: “If anyone would be my disciple, he must take up my cross and follow me.” In another quotation He said the day shall come when “every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Your prayers are requested for our pastor, Dr. Mac Stinson, his son, Mac Stinson III; his daughter, Mary; daughter Ann, leaving for Africa as a medical missionary and his sister, Gail.

Remember Carl and Anne Glass, Cindy McCarvitt, BeeBee and Dwight Sammons, our church community, Christians worldwide and little Israel.

Our good news: Shea Simms is on his way home from Kuwait for a visit with his family and parents, Dr. Phil and Jane Simms.

Our Sunday night Bible study is in the book of Daniel. We invite you to come and learn with us.

Have a great week.
