Stephen J. Bombara Jr., 60, of Jemison died Friday, July 20, 2012, after a long period of declining health.

Raised in Douglas, Mass., Mr. Bombara was predeceased by his parents, Stephen J. Bombara Sr. and Regina P. Bombara [Pollinger] of Douglas, Mass.

Stephen was employed many years at Komtek of Worcester, Mass., before moving to Jemison. Stephen enjoyed stock car racing and was an avid fan of NASCAR. His pastimes were playing cards and horseshoes. He enjoyed working on older cars and just working around his home.

He is survived by two brothers and a sister, Charles S. Bombara of New Market; John P. Bombara and Patricia Dix, both of Douglas, Mass.

Stephen leaves a son, Christian J. Bombara Sr. of Pomfret, Conn., and 2 grandchildren, Christian Jr. and Wyatt; a daughter, Jesse Bombara Jackson of Jemison, and three grandchildren, Allysa, Charlise and Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Foundation of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, 35294-0113.
