Clanton man killed in dune buggy wreck

Published 9:28am Friday, July 20, 2012

A Clanton man was killed Thursday when he lost control of the homemade dune buggy he was driving, left the roadway and overturned.

Rodney Dale Cooedy, 45, wrecked on Chilton County Road 232 at about 6:25 p.m., according to a release by Sgt. Steve Jarrett with the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Seat belts were not in use, and Cooedy was ejected from the vehicle, according to the release.

Alcohol may have been a factor.

State Troopers are investigating the wreck.

This was very biased. The journalists painted a picture of a drunk wrecking his man-made death trap. I am disappointed in how this man was presented to our community.
