Published 5:25pm Thursday, July 19, 2012

Care Net will be having a yard sale beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 near Pinedale Gardens on Highway 145 in Clanton.

All proceeds from the yard sale will directly benefit the ministry of Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center of Chilton County. Since opening in 2006, their ministry has helped more than 1,000 girls and their families by providing free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, peer counseling and baby supplies.

According to Deanna Crist, executive director of the non-profit Christian ministry, several churches and more than 20 families have donated to the sale so far. Items that will be available include electronics, clothes, books, workout equipment, office supplies, decorations, bikes and a saxophone.

Anyone wishing to donate items to the event can deliver them to the Care Net office during regular business hours until Aug. 2. All donations are tax-deductible.
