Thanks for help following tornado

Dear Editor,

Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people of Chilton County and the surrounding area for their unending help after we lost our home to a tornado on March 2.

We have been deeply humbled by your care and love during this very difficult time. This help has come from numerous friends, family, former students, present students and families, classmates, work peers and many, many businesses and churches. This includes people we will never know who were working behind the scenes. We would be remiss if we didn’t thank all of the different emergency responders who came to our aid the night of the tornado. We cannot imagine what chaos would exist for everyone if we didn’t have them.

As we told the news people, this community is our home, and you showed everyone why. We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for everything you have done for us and continue to do.

If we see you personally and don’t thank you, please forgive us as the days immediately following the tornado are a blur, and we might not realize you were there. On that note, though we may not acknowledge you, please know how very grateful we are for your help. We are taking each day one at a time, and each one becomes easier to handle as we rebuild our lives. Your love, care and prayers have made this journey so much easier to cope with.

Please continue praying for us. God touched many people through this event, and we were witnesses to his work through your hands. Again, thank you for everything.
