Hamm competes in Miss Alabama Pageant

Thorsby native Susan Hamm is competing in the 2012 Miss Alabama Pageant from June 6–9 in Birmingham.

The pageant starts at 7:30 p.m. each night and is being held at the Wright Center on Samford University’s campus.

Hamm, 23, is Miss Leeds Area 2012. Miss Leeds is an official preliminary to the Miss Alabama and Miss America pageants.

Her talent was playing the piano, and her platform was the American Cancer Society.

Hamm was also second runner-up in Miss Samford University 2008.

She attended Samford University, where she majored in marketing and management.
