Mr. and Mrs. Don Popwell and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Maddox announce the forthcoming marriage of their children, Katherine Leigh Popwell to Joshua Clay Maddox.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Don and Wanda Popwell of Clanton. She is also the granddaughter of Geneva Popwell and the late Erskin Popwell of Clanton, and the late George and Alice Greene of Alexander City.

Katie is a 2008 graduate of Chilton County High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama.

The prospective groom is the son of Reed and Loretta Maddox of Clanton. He is also the grandson of Sadie Maddox and the late Ulmer Maddox of Clanton, and Dorenda Minor and the late Ross Minor of Clanton.

Clay is a 2006 graduate of Chilton County High School and has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He is currently attending Jones School of Law at Faulkner University.

The couple will unite in marriage on June 9, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Bell Lane Baptist Church in Clanton with reception following at Anderson Gail Farms.
