Rebels force Game 3 at Leroy

Published 10:43pm Friday, May 4, 2012

Thorsby was shut out by Leroy in Game 1, 3-0, but bounced back to win the second game, 4-3, behind the complete game pitching performance of Stephen Mims.

Mims allowed only one hit, and it was a bunt. He struck out 10 batters.

Bo Hoffman hit a home run in support of Mims, and both Denham Childress and Parker Bryan went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double.

Jace Maddox had two singles in two at-bats.

Jason Price was the tough-luck loser in Game 1. He allowed only three hits.

Leroy scored two runs in the third inning without getting the ball out of the infield.
