James William Patmon

James William Patmon, age 86 of Maylene, passed away on April 7, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Jefferson County on Feb. 23, 1926, to the late James Louis Patman and the late Tempie Elizabeth Isbell Patmon.

Mr. Patmon was retired from U.S. Steel. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He is survived by: three sons, Mike, Mark and Tim Patmon of Maylene; grandson, Matt Patmon of Maylene; sister, Margaret Click of Irondale; special niece, Joyce Land of Jemison; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by: wife, Pearl Gibson Patmon; son, James Timothy Patmon; father, James Louis Patmon; mother, Tempie Elizabeth Patmon; brother, Alton Patmon; and brother, Dennis Patmon.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home located at 1709 Lay Dam Road in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11 from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Birmingham.
