James Leo Glenn

James Leo Glenn, age 72 of Verbena, passed away on Jan. 28, 2012 in Bessemer.

He was born on March 13, 1939, in Chilton County, the son of the late Thomas Claudie Glenn and the late Eva Crew Glenn.

Mr. Glenn was retired from CSX Railroad where he worked as a switchman.

He is survived by: daughter, Angela (James) Ciesla of Verbena; daughter, Jamie (Kevin) Baldwin of Verbena; grandchildren, Ashley Hogan, Brad Hogan, James Baldwin, Joyce Baldwin, and Lauren Miller, all of Verbena; great grandchildren, Kelsey Price, Bailey Miller, McKinleigh Hogan and Chandler Miller; sister, Linda Bearse of Bessemer; sister, Dale (Randal) Mims of Clanton; and brother, Bufford Glenn Armstrong of Deatsville; along with a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, along with his beloved wife, Joyce G. Glenn.

Funeral services will be held on at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Randal Mims, the Rev. Andy Mims and the Rev. Jeff Isbell officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Elmore County.

The family would like to say a special, “Thank you,” to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and two special friends, Ella Holmes and Betty Early.
