Red Devils, Patriots pick up wins Friday

In other Friday night action, Thorsby fell at American Christian, 59-7, but two other local teams were victorious.

Maplesville won at John Essex on Friday, 48-0.

The Red Devils had 140 yards passing and 300 yards rushing.

Brintain Hill scored two rushing touchdowns, one on a 10-yard run and another on a 2-yard run.

Damian Mitchell had a 2-yard rushing score and also a 30-yard TD catch.

Brandon Shields scored on an 18-yard pass play.

Both of the passing touchdowns were thrown by quarterback Colby Chambers.

Cameron Morrow scored on a 2-yard run for Maplesville.

Chilton Christian Academy, meanwhile, extended its impressive winning streak to five games with Friday’s 87-42 win at Faith Christian.

The Patriots rolled up 486 total yards, 191 of which were accounted for by Chris Lassinger.

Lassinger also scored three touchdowns.

Ashton Basler had 185 total yards and four touchdowns.

Will Hamby had four interceptions for the CCA defense.

Kevin Kemp recorded seven tackles.

Verbena played at Fayetteville on Friday; the result was not available at press time.
