Curtis R.V. Smith, age 75 of Maplesville, passed away on Aug. 22, 2011, at his residence.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1936, in Chilton County, the son of the late Burnie Smith and the late Crystal Vastie Martin Smith.

Mr. Smith was a shipping clerk for Gulf States Paper Company. He is survived by: wife, Eleanor Levadie Hayes Smith of Maplesville; son, James Curtis “J.C.” (Valerie) Smith of Plantersville; daughter, Wanda Darlene Smith of Maplesville; sister, Shelby Jean Smith of Jemison; granddaughter, Julie (Evan) Hollon of Plantersville; grandson, Jimmy (Rachel) Smith of Clanton; special friend, Dr. Michael Soppett of Dothan; along with three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. at Maplesville Community Holiness Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. from Maplesville Community Holiness Church with the Rev. William Fulgham officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Stanton.
