Man found dead at Interstate exit identified

Published 6:28pm Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Authorities have identified a motorist found dead at the Interstate 65 Verbena Exit on June 29.

The body was determined to be that of Gregory Arnold Rogers, 51, who had been reported missing out of Pleasant Grove.

Arnold was found in the cab of a silver or gray Dodge pick-up truck along the exit ramp at Exit 200 after a passing motorist alerted law enforcement.

Chilton County Sheriff Kevin Davis said at the time that it appeared the body had been at the location for possibly several days.

“We’re still waiting on some results from the autopsy,” Davis said Tuesday. “There were no obvious signs of trauma, no obvious cause of death.

“Right now, it’s an open case that we’re continuing to work.”
