Rachel Mims and David Heflin of Clanton are happy to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dirk and Ellen Mims of Clanton and the granddaughter of Ken and Jeri Mims, Charles Payton and Mary Frances Pinson. She is a 2006 graduate of Thorsby High School and studied to become a dental assistant at Jefferson State Community College.

The prospective groom is the son of Irby and Sandra Heflin of Clanton and the grandson of Earl and Ruth Cleckler and James Duke and Millicent Heflin. He is a 2003 graduate of Chilton County High and studied forestry at Auburn University. He is employed with Alabama Power. The wedding will be held June 4. Invitations are being sent.
