Robinson to speak at commerce meeting

Guin Robinson, Director of Institutional Development for Jefferson State Community College, will speak at the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Feb. 1.

Robinson became the first full-time mayor of Pell City when he was elected in 1999. He is a former board member of The United Way of Central Alabama, the Metropolitan Development Board, and Kid One.

Robinson is the 2005 recipient of the Alabama Library Association Public Official of the Year award, and is a recipient of the Boys and Girls Clubs’ Helping Hands award. He was recently appointed to the Alabama Historic Commission by former Gov. Bob Riley.

The luncheon will be held at the Helen Parrish Activity Center at First United Methodist Church in Clanton, and is open to the public. Those who attend can eat lunch for $8.
